Sitka Tribe of Alaska
The mission of the Resource Protection Department at the Sitka Tribe of Alaska (STA) is to protect natural and cultural resources within STA’s traditional territory, including subsistence resources. Understanding land-freshwater-ocean connectivity and how fluxes of water and nutrients may change with climate change is vital to carrying out STA’s mission.
Trained in hydrology, I have experience quantifying scour and fill processes during floods and seasonal nitrogen fluxes and transformations across stream-hyporheic zone-gravel bar interfaces in the Southwestern US. In my position at STA, I am involved in a variety of projects to protect and restore watersheds.
