I am a forest hydrologist by training, with BSc in Forestry from the University of Northern British Columbia, an MSc from Oregon State University in Forest Engineering (Hydrology) and a PhD in Forest Hydrology from UBC. My research focuses on enhancing observation networks and developing novel measurement methods to improve our understanding of watershed function and reduce model uncertainty, regional impacts of climate change on hydrology, and the impacts of forest harvesting on water quality and quantity.

I currently work as a Research Hydrologist with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and I am on a partial secondment at Vancouver Island University to establish the Coastal Hydrology and Climate Change Research Lab and to lead the water and weather program at the Hakai Institute.
