HareHakai Institute

My work currently focuses on tracking ocean acidification in the Salish Sea and the B.C. central coast region as part of the Hakai Institute’s Ocean Acidification Program. This involves determining the relevant scales of variability and the influence of freshwater inputs on carbonate system parameters in a coastal setting, and calculating sea-air CO2 fluxes. Research interests include evaluating freshwater organic acid contributions to coastal TA-S relationships and their consequence on CO2 flux calculations, as well as determining linkages between carbonate mineral saturation conditions and biological impacts.
